Summer Skin Care Tips

women skin care summerSummer poses the most critical period for your skin care, especially if you have dry skin or combination skin. Main reasons are dehydration, skin scaling, wrinkles, acne and other skin infections.

According to dermatologists it is a recommended practice to take preventive action when your skin is relatively healthy and fit.

In this section you can read about some of the procedures involved in preparation of homemade remedies for combination skin. They include skin cleanser, moisturizer, skin conditioner, toner, skin brightener and immunity provider.

Skin Cleanser

Your skin needs to be cleansed from all the types of pollutants, oil, dirt and other toxic elements which are accumulated within the layers from the epidermis layer till the Subcutis layer. This can be done in two ways.

First one is by using external ingredients lotions and creams. The second method is by cleaning the internal organs like large intestine, liver, kidneys and blood veins which keep pumping toxic elements into the skin when their condition is poor or contaminated. Practically speaking you need both methods in order to clean your skin completely.

  • Hydrotherapy is one method involves injecting of cleansing water into the large intestine region through rectum region. The temperature of water is controlled by the therapist depending on the nature and intensity of your skin disorder. Repeated treatment ensures removal of harmful deposits like mucus, bacteria and other pollutants from this region.
  • Herbal therapy involves 5 types of processes namely Emesis, Purgation, Nasal cleansing, Oil enema and Decoction enema. These methods are highly practiced in India under Ayurveda methods of skin treatment. These methods concentrate on the removal of toxic elements from large and small intestines, liver, pancreas and kidneys. This type of treatment is said to be highly effective for long time cure for skin infections like rashes, acne, pimples, jaundice and other forms of inflammation from your skin. Internal cleansing of sweat glands, small intestine, spleen, kidneys and large intestine is carried out with the help of specialized herbal preparations. All the pollutants are removed from your body through the rectum.
  • External cleansing of skin layers can be done with the help of homemade recipes. Take 1 table spoon of castor oil, 1 tablespoon of Eucalyptus oil, Neem oil, and 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel. Mix the ingredients in a large bowl. Now heat the ingredients in an oven for about 30 seconds. Take out the bowl and let the mix cool for about10 minutes. Apply it onto skin areas and let it soak your skin for 20 minutes. Then you can wash your skin with warm water.

Skin Moisturizer

Take 1 table spoon of chamomile oil, 1 tablespoon of sandalwood oil, rosemary oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin C or vitamin E oil. Optionally you can add 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel. Pour the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

Now you need to heat the ingredients in an oven for about 1 minute.  Take out the bowl and let the mix cool for about 20 minutes. Now you can apply it onto the skin areas. This sort of serum is highly useful for dry skin.

These natural elements can help your skin cells to retain the water content within them. Sometimes this method alone may not bring you the desired results during summer. It could be due to the environmental factors or your skin conditions. In such cases you need to supplement your skin treatment with dietary patterns also.

Consume at least 3 to 4 liters of water every day during your treatment period. Repeated treatment can ensure skin hydration.

Eat veggies like carrot, beet, cucumber and sweet pumpkin. You need to add natural minerals into your skin cells and tissues to increase their cohesiveness and elasticity. Tomatoes (watch out if you have acidic problems), cauliflower, cabbage, fish, green leafy vegetables and berries are good enough to boost the levels of collagen in your skin.

Once the wrinkles are eliminated and the skin tightness is restored to healthy levels, the skin moisture retaining capacity will naturally increase. According to dermatologists this natural way through diets gives long lasting results.

Dead Skin Removal

It is called as skin exfoliation. Exfoliation is a method through which you remove the dead skin cells in the outer layers of your skin and nails. This process has to be done for all the parts of your skin in order to make your skin completely refreshed and regenerated. In case you have any skin sensitivity or other issues (since you have combination skin) you need to consult your dermatologist before adopting the method specified here.

You can remove dead skin cells by scrubbing your skin with a combination of coconut oil and sugar. Add them in the ratio of 4:2 in a bowl and stir well. Allow the mix to settle for 5 to 10 minutes. By this time the sugar would have dissolved to some extent. Apply it onto your skin and scrub with your fingers. Wash your skin with warm water.

Skin Conditioner And Toner

Apple cider vinegar is one of the key ingredients used for toning your skin. It can be combined with essential oils, cardamom oil, coconut oil, turmeric oil and Aloe Vera liquid.

Take 1 table spoon of chamomile oil, 1 tablespoon of cardamom oil, coconut oil and turmeric oil. Add 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel. Pour the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. You can apply this mix on your facial skin and let it soak for about 15 minutes. Then you can wash with warm water without soap.

The same procedure can be applied for the skin in rest of your body by increasing the volume in the proportions specified above. Your skin will be able to experience visible results within the first few weeks of treatment.

Skin Brightener

You can brighten your skin by regular massaging with a combination of coconut oil, eucalyptus oil, vegetable oil and any of the essential oils. Take them in the ratio of 1:1 and mix in a bowl. You can apply them on your skin and wait for 10 minutes to soak. Then wash off with warm water.
